History of Albasarat Eye Foundation
Albasarat eye foundation was established in 1997. It is a non-governmental, non-political, charitable organization. the idea for establishing the eye foundation was put forward by Prof.Dr.zia ul Islam, who was chief of ophtalmology at Kyber Medical college and khyber Teaching Hospital,Peshawar
It is because of his dedication and efforts that from a mere concept the foundation has transformed into reality. He is highly qualified and experienced in the filed of opthalmology, having liaison with several NGOs and philanthropists. He has been conducting free surgical eye camps in the rural areas of khyber Pakhtunkhawa for a veyr long time.
He realised the dire need to organise the ophtalmic services in the rural areas of KP and tribal belt where poor people cannot afford to avail facilities of proper treatment in urban centres.
